The Halifax Vision Surgical Centre was the first privately owned surgical clinic in Halifax to perform Intraocular Lens replacement surgery outside of a hospital setting. The Halifax Vision Surgical Centre has treated thousands of eyes and helped many people reduce the need for glasses and contact lenses, allowing them to see clearly.

Established in 2004, we pride ourselves on using state of the art technology to achieve the best possible results all while keeping safety as our number one priority.

Meet our Surgeon

Dr. Dan Belliveau is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. As an ophthalmologist specializing in refractive and cataract surgery, Dr. Belliveau is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Dalhousie University. He has an active role in teaching eye surgery in the residency training program. He earned his medical degree from Université de Montréal before completing his ophthalmology residency at the Université de Sherbrooke.
With over 20 years of experience and over 30,000 refractive and cataract surgeries performed, Dr. Belliveau is considered a leader in his field. He prides himself in offering a competent and empathetic approach in his patient care.
Dr. Belliveau enjoys hockey, snowboarding and playing tennis in his off time.
