Cataract

Cataracts are the result of the natural clouding of the lens inside the
eye. Typically, the lens is clear allowing for light to make focused,
sharp images. However, proteins and fibres within the lens itself can
break down and clump together causing a “clouding” effect in your
vision.

Instead of the light entering the eye sharply, it will scatter or be
blocked, causing blurring, difficulty seeing in the dark,
fading/yellowing of colours, double vision, and even haloes around
lights.

Cataract surgery removes the cloudy lens and replaces it with an
artificial lens. This will rid the eye of the cataract while correcting overall vision.
